A scant bushel of gigantic rhubarb from Jersey was first up this year– hey, no snickering, it is the Garden State for a reason, and though I still consider it all mostly a mystery, I did live there for 10 years. …
where to find les collines, spring 2015
So grateful spring has arrived…or is it summer? Whichever, it is not cold, and we will take it….
mad men
It is the series finale tonight of Mad Men, a show I have only seen in fits and starts. I won’t be viewing; it is on my to stream in marathon sessions list….
The Amazing Lee Bros. Sour Orange Pie
Read that how you will– both the Lee Bros. and their sour orange pie are amazing. They (the brothers that is, with or without pie!) actually have a TV show called “Southern Uncovered” starting in June!!!…
a little life
Home with a stomach bug last week, I was able to catch up on some of my stacks of reading. Still trying to decide whether to have a go at what sounds a very difficult book. One of those books that hurts but stays with you, that shifts your perspective, maybe just a notch on the sundial but so the light nonetheless looks different and the shadows shift. sending March out

vernal equinox 2015
Twas the first day of spring 2015, and it looked and felt like winter, of course. Snowing with temps in the 20’s, I am wondering if I will ever feel warm again.
A box of Sevilles at the ready and a bouquet of tulips showing their colors helped remind us that sunniness does exist (somewhere!) and will return someday. The dogs find joy in just about any weather, why don’t we?
Have tried to bear this winter with grace and humor but both wearing a bit thin…and yet…
Hope springs eternal xo
